Build Your Own Buddha Bowl

 


Are Buddha Bowls healthy? 


It's a great example of the 'Healthy Eating Plate'.


1/2 the bowl is made up of veggies, 1/4 carbs and other 1/4 protein, making it a balanced healthy meal.


Anything that encourages you to eat more green veggies gets my approval…hehehehehe 😬😬 ðŸ˜¬

 





What is a Buddha Bowl made of?


They are made of various greens leafy, raw or roasted vegetables, beans or a whole grain such as quinoa and brown rice.


Include some toppings like nuts, seeds and dressings for extra texture and flavour.


Most Buddha Bowls are loaded with a ton of different kinds of veggies, roasted or served raw.


All are served on a bed of healthy grains such as rice, quinoa or soba noodles.




TAKE HOME MESSAGE


Though many Buddha Bowls are enriched with veggies, animal products are still allowed, such as boiled eggs, tuna, fish, chicken and prawn.
